Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (LV) - R CMC (LV)

Description

  • R CMS-LV is a Carboxy Methyl Cellulose ( C.M.C.) of low viscosity which adheres to the OCMA DFCP-2 Specifications. It is used as a fluid loss reducer in fresh, sea and saturated salt water based drilling fluids.

Application

  • R CMS-LV is used in various types of drilling fluids ranging from fresh water to saturated salt water. It is particularly used when borehole conditions or excessive reservoir pressures require higher mud weights; thus a low viscosity product is highly recommended for the control of the fluid loss.
  • In usual conditions R CMC-LV has no microbial susceptibility.
  • R CMS-LV can be used in a wide pH range (5-12). The product flows easily from the bags and if carefully added through the hopper, dissolves quickly in the drilling fluid without lumping.

Temperature

  • R CMS-LV solutions are highly heat resistant. The product has a peak operating temperature higher (300°F- 150°C) than other products such as Carboxy Methyl Starch (CMS) and Guar Gum. In the presence of strong alkali, oxygen & some metail ions, this value is reduced.

Performance

  • R CMS-LV meets the OCMA DECP-2 Specifications.

  • R-WAX - Series
  • R-COR - Series
R-DEM Series

Description

  • R DEM-SERIES is a complex blend active agents and wetting agents designed to migrate to the oil/water interface inorder to rapidly break any emulsion to give clean oil and clean water.

Application

  • R-DEM-SERIES should be injected using a chemical proportionating pump into the fluid to be treated at a point as far as possible upstream of the dehydrators or desalters.
  • For dehydration when heat is employed the dosage tends to be about 10ppm for most applications, there are however occasions when this treating ratio may have to be adjusted either in the upward or downward direction depending upon the nature and tenacity of the emulsions.
  • For desalting using electrostatic precipitators the dosage will be in the range of 1ppm to 5ppm.

Treatment dosage rates depends on several factors such as:-

  • Type of emulsion
  • Degree of agitation in the system.
  • The Gas/Oil/Water ratios.
  • Treating temperature
  • Residence or coalescence time
  • Quality of wash water (for desalting applications)
  • Design features of the dehydrator/desalter.

Typical dosage would vary between 10ppm-150ppm depending on the above mentioned factors.

R-FLO - Series

Description

  • R FLOW-SERIES is a blend of oil soluble polymers formulated to improve the cold flow properties of waxy oils.

Application

  • R-FLO-SERIES should be injected continuously at a turbulent point upstream from where waxy solids first start to crystallise, ideally at 10°C above the cloud point. Dose rates vary with the wax concentration and composition but generally 100 to 500ppm are effective in depressing the pour point.

Packaging

  • R-FLO-SERIES is packed in 210 liter mild steel drums. Net weight is 170 kg.

Physical Properties

Appearance Yellow liquid above 25°C
Density at 30°C 0.850 kg/l
Viscosity at 30°C 24cp
Pour Point (static cooling) 25°C
Flash Point (PMCC) 70
Solvent Heavy hydrocarbon

Storage & Handling

  • R-FLO-SERIES has its hazards associated with hydrocarbon solvents (aromatic). Precautions against fire must be taken during handling and storage. Dry chemical extinguishers may be used for small fires but large fires are best dealt with by the use of foam. The vapor above the liquid in the drums may well reach the lower explosive limit.
  • The vapor can cause irritation to the eyes and nose leading to factory fatigue. Higher concentrations have a typical narcotic effect on the central nervous systems. The Threshold Limit value is 100ppm. Do not induce vomiting if swallowed but seek medical help.
  • The Liquid may give rise to cracking and defatting of the skin.
  • It is recommended that good ventilation is provided in workplace and contact with the skin and eye be avoided by the wearing of protective gloves and goggles. Any splashes should be removed by washing with copious amounts of water.
  • Customers are urged to ensure that the products are entirely suitable for their own purposes. R Tech can frequently help in these technical decisions, if required.
  • Laboratory test must be carried out prior to the commencement of field application.
R-WAX - Series

Description

  • R WAX –SERIES is a blend of polymeric compounds, wetting agents and paraffin wax solvents.
  • R WAX –SERIES functions by removing paraffin wax deposits and minimising the further deposition of paraffin wax. It will also improve the cold flow characteristics of crude oil/condensate
  • R WAX –SERIES dose not contain any material considered to be damaging to refinery catalysts.

Application

  • To present paraffin wax deposition in an essentially clean system (after pigging) continous injection at low dosage levels is recommended. (15ppm-1000ppm).
  • To remove deposits, a batch treatment ‘soak’is recommended. This can be achieved by mixing R WAX –SERIES with either oil/condensate or water. If the oil has low water cut, then water is the preferred diluent. R WAX –SERIES will not function correctly in systems containing less than 1% water, unless water is added to the inhibitor. In dry systems containing less than 1% water, the inhibitor should be dispersed in water or brine prior to use. A 2-20% dispersion of the inhibitor in water or brine is allowed to ‘soak’ for 18-48 hours before pumping out. For wet systems a 2-20% solution in hydrocarbon or water/brine may be used.

Typical Properties

Appearance Brownish liquid
Specific Gravity @20°C 0.85
Flash Point °C PMCC 63
Viscosity @20°C 20 cps
Pour Point Less than -10

Handling & Safety

  • Protective clothing, gloves and goggles should be worm. For eye contact, irrigate with water for 15 minutes. For skin contact wash with soap and water. If irritation persists seek medical attention.
  • Customers are urged to ensure that the products are entirely suitable for their own purposes. R Tech can frequently help in these technical decisions, if required.
R-COR - Series

Description

  • R-COR-SERIES is oil soluble water dispersible, film forming corrosion inhibitor specifically developed to mitigate the effects of corrosion in light hydrocarbon streams. The inhibitor does not impart emulsification tendencies to light hydrocarbons and is completely soluble in condensate, diesel etc.
  • It does not have detrimental effect on downstream such as glycol dehydrators etc. It is stable at temperatures upto 270°C and such makes an excellent corrosion inhibitor for even high bottom hole temperature wells.

Typical Properties

  • May be applied for tubing displacement, formation squeeze, injection truck or continuous feed for bottom hole treatment
  • For crude oil transmission line/gas transmission lines
From Dark brown liquid
Specific gravity 0.85-0.93
Flash Point PMCC°C >40°c
Pour Point <60°c
Viscosity @20°C 24cPs
pH(1%solution in IPA) 7.5

Packaging

  • R-COR-SERIES is packed in 200 liter steel drums and is also supplied in bulk road tankers
  • Customers are urged to ensure that the products are entirely suitable for their own purposes.
  • R TECH (I) LTD can help in technical matter, if required.

Uses

  • Effective in high h2s containing streams. It is also effective in less corrosive CO2 media
  • Gas and oil gathering transmission lines
  • Due to its ‘NON-GUNKING’ tendency and high temperature stability it makes an idela candidate for the squeeze treatment and batch treatment of oil wells.

Handling & Safety

  • No special precautions are needed other than normal hygiene practice for handling of industrial chemicals.
  • Avoid all contact- prolonged contact may cause irritation of skin
  • Rinse affected areas with soap and water
  • For eye contact- irrigate with fresh water for at least 15 minutes
